What is Spiritual Science ?
In defining Spiritual Science we cross paths with a great example of how language can be as limiting as it can be liberating, for how can one define something that cannot be confined into words? And in the same turn, the weight of certain words used in particular ways may resonate so strong that a sort of spiritual understanding may unfold.
The term Spiritual Science is not widely recognized today and even in its recognition it varies in its definition. From being described as a philosophical belief system to a modern religious movement, the defining perspectives of today may contradict each other, yet they all seem to have a similar undertone, which is:
That of the unseen need not remain unknown.
Ultimately the spiritual world can be experienced and investigated through the same scientific means as we do in the physical world.

“A mystic is a spiritual realist, a person for whom the Invisible is a matter of more or less firsthand experience.”~Frances Parkinson Keyes

“Even in exoteric life it is quite easy to understand. Certainly the realm of cognition has given rise to all kinds of debate, but if people would only come to understand one another concerning the concepts and ideas they formulate for themselves, controversy over questions of cognition would gradually cease. I have often emphasized that we no longer dispute over mathematics, because we have raised mathematics entirely into consciousness. The things we dispute about are those not yet raised into consciousness: we still allow our subconscious impulses, instincts, and passions to play into them. So we see that in the realm of cognition we have to do with something more universally human than anything to be found in the subconscious realm. When we meet another human being and enter into the most varied relationships with him, it is in the realm of conscious spiritual life that understanding should be possible. And a mark of a healthy soul-life is that it will always wish and hope to reach an understanding with the other person concerning things that belong to conscious spiritual life. It will be unhealthy for the soul if that hope is lost. …
On the other hand, we must recognise the Will-element, and everything in another person’s subconscious, as something which should on no account be intruded upon; it must be regarded as his innermost sanctuary.” ~Rudolf Steiner, GA 131/ Lecture 1, October 5, 1911

“Inability to accept the mystic experience is more than an intellectual handicap. Lack of awareness of the basic unity of organism and environment is a serious and dangerous hallucination. For in a civilization equipped with immense technological power, the sense of alienation between man and nature leads to the use of technology in a hostile spirit—-to the “conquest” of nature instead of intelligent co-operation with nature.”~Alan Watts

Often attributed to Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) in regard to anthroposophy (human wisdom), Spiritual Science, though not necessarily disguised under the same name, has been embedded within our collective conscious since earlier times, when spirit and science were not considered as separated things.
As the evolutionary pendulum swings from its extremes, from ancient communal and clairvoyant conditions to the separation into individual “I” consciousness. In these times, as the pendulum sways towards the middle, the test of mind requires an integration of the extremes humanity has experienced thus far, to harmonize at the center.
We learn how to independently create by complimenting the collective with our natural human gifts, rather than degrade it with unnecessary and unnatural control.

May the benefits from various perspectives be recognized with each vantage point, reflecting underlying truths that shines through all points of view.
For we are all varying degrees within the massive scale that is humanity.

“The Revival of humanity asks us to find ourselves and in doing so we find our endurance like the Ram, and unity through our unique stripes, like the Zebra.”~Kate the Artist

Separating can be great for learning and defining, but there comes a time to remember how to put it all back together;

Check DAN out!
I learned about Villayat’s journey that lead to his creation of DAN (Disabled Artists Network). Through sharing awareness of PTSD in addition to the vastness of mental health and its connection and effects on physical health, Villayat’s work makes an impact and expresses what DAN is all about. He created an inspiring project that connects people through sharing their experience and art with others, which unites us in a powerfully human way by provoking compassion, healing, and strength. Because of this I’m grateful to participate in the DAN V3 exhibition. It provides a platform that utilizes the potential of creativity as a means of coping with adversity in life, especially when it comes to mental and physical challenges, which resonates so much with my work! I highly recommended contributing to and sharing this project! The application process is easy and the communication is great! The gallery space is also wonderful and digitally capable of exhibiting a variety of art from artist all around the world!
